Tree Service in Fairfax, VA
Fairfax mixes the older streets of Old Town Fairfax with established neighborhoods like Mantua and Kings Park West, and many of their mature oaks and poplars now reach over roofs, decks and fences. King Tree Services brings ISA Certified Arborist® (MA-6043A) oversight, TRAQ hazard assessments, and a company-owned 75-ton crane for trees with no room to fall.
City Rules, County Rules and HOAs
A Fairfax address doesn’t always mean the same rules. The City of Fairfax is an independent city with its own zoning, and Old Town’s historic district has its own review board for exterior changes. Outside city limits, in places like Mantua and Kings Park West, Fairfax County’s rules apply instead, and many neighborhoods have associations that review tree work. Check with the city, the county or your association before work starts. An ISA Certified Arborist’s written assessment documents a tree’s condition, risk and distance to your home, and gives a reviewer a clear reason to approve a removal or a plan to keep a healthy tree.

Crane Removal Without Felling
On townhome rows, cul-de-sacs and wooded lots there’s often nowhere to drop a tree: a roof, a fence or a neighbor’s deck is always in the way. From one setup point, usually the driveway or the street, our crane lifts each section over the house, and static vertical rigging secures every piece on the line before it’s cut. AlturnaMATS® protect lawns wherever equipment has to cross.
Tree Removal
Sectioned crane and rope-rigged removals over roofs, fences and decks.
Tree Trimming & Pruning
ANSI A300 pruning for mature trees crowding roofs and neighboring yards.
Stump Grinding & Removal
Stump grinding with cleanup, ready for lawn or replanting.
Tree Planting & Replacement
Replacement trees sized for smaller lots and townhome yards.
Tree Health & Diagnosis
TRAQ-qualified assessments of decay, root problems and emerald ash borer.
Emergency Storm Cleanup
24/7 response for trees on houses, cars and fences.

What Our Customers Say About Our Tree Services
Real reviews from King Tree Services customers, shown word for word as they appear on Google.
Excellent!!! Edgar and his crew removed a ton of trees, branches, and vines from our 5 acre lot. They are all extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Staff safety and the safety of your property is a top priority for them and it shows. They removed huge branches over our home so this was also a priority of ours. Reasonably priced and they did an excellent job cleaning up after they were done. I have already scheduled to have them come back and do more work. Thanks so much!!
We recently had Kings Tree Services at our house to repoint/repair our mulch bed retaining walls, as well as clear out and refill the mulch beds. They also added a walkway in our backyard which not only looks great but has also helped address the a problem area of our yard that frequently remained muddy. Their services were fantastic and there pricing can't be beat. I would highly recommend their services.
Edgar was fantastic to work with! We had a very large tree fall down in a storm and wanted it removed. Within the same day that I called, he came out to assess what needed to be done. I would absolutely recommend using this company for any tree removal service. They did an excellent job, Especially with cleaning up all the debris at the end.
Accotink Creek, Popes Head Creek and Resource Protection Areas
Accotink Creek and its tributaries wind through the City of Fairfax and nearby county neighborhoods, and Popes Head Creek runs south toward Fairfax Station. Both the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County protect land along perennial streams as Resource Protection Areas (RPAs), where removing trees or vegetation is generally restricted. Even a dead or hazardous tree inside an RPA can need review. We check whether your lot is in an RPA, and whether the city or the county reviews it, before any work is scheduled.
