Tree Service in Clifton & Fairfax Station, VA
Clifton and Fairfax Station are some of Northern Virginia’s most wooded areas: homes on one- to five-acre lots under mature white oaks and tulip poplars, often at the end of long private driveways. When one of those trees has to come down, there’s rarely a clear place to drop it. King Tree Services brings ISA Certified Arborist® (MA-6043A) oversight, TRAQ hazard assessments, and a company-owned 75-ton crane for trees with no room to fall.
Town Rules, County Rules and Large-Lot Zoning
Inside the Town of Clifton, the whole town is a historic district, and its Architectural Review Board reviews exterior changes. Outside town limits, Fairfax County’s rules apply. Much of the surrounding area sits in the Occoquan watershed, where the county’s Residential-Conservation zoning keeps lots large and wooded. Some neighborhoods also have associations that review tree work. Check with the town, the county or your association before work starts. An ISA Certified Arborist’s written assessment documents a tree’s condition, risk and distance to your home, and gives a reviewer a clear reason to approve a removal or a plan to keep a healthy tree.

- Our Tree Care Services
Crane Removal Without Felling
Long driveways, wells and septic fields leave little room for heavy equipment. From one setup point, our crane lifts each section clear, and static vertical rigging secures every piece on the line before it’s cut. AlturnaMATS® ground protection keeps lawns, drain fields and long gravel drives intact wherever equipment has to cross.
Tree Removal
Sectioned crane and rope-rigged removals over roofs, fences and decks.

What Our Customers Say About Our Tree Services
Real reviews from King Tree Services customers, shown word for word as they appear on Google.
Excellent!!! Edgar and his crew removed a ton of trees, branches, and vines from our 5 acre lot. They are all extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Staff safety and the safety of your property is a top priority for them and it shows. They removed huge branches over our home so this was also a priority of ours. Reasonably priced and they did an excellent job cleaning up after they were done. I have already scheduled to have them come back and do more work. Thanks so much!!
We recently had Kings Tree Services at our house to repoint/repair our mulch bed retaining walls, as well as clear out and refill the mulch beds. They also added a walkway in our backyard which not only looks great but has also helped address the a problem area of our yard that frequently remained muddy. Their services were fantastic and there pricing can't be beat. I would highly recommend their services.
Edgar was fantastic to work with! We had a very large tree fall down in a storm and wanted it removed. Within the same day that I called, he came out to assess what needed to be done. I would absolutely recommend using this company for any tree removal service. They did an excellent job, Especially with cleaning up all the debris at the end.
Popes Head Creek, Bull Run and Resource Protection Areas
Popes Head Creek, Johnny Moore Creek and the Bull Run and Occoquan Reservoir shorelines wind through and around Clifton and Fairfax Station. The reservoir supplies drinking water to much of the region. Fairfax County protects a buffer of at least 100 feet along perennial streams and shorelines as Resource Protection Areas (RPAs), where removing trees or vegetation is generally restricted. Even a dead or hazardous tree inside an RPA can need county review. We check whether your lot is in an RPA before any work is scheduled.
